No More Independents Days for Lindsay Lohan
Filed under: Independent, Casting, RumorMonger, Celebrities and Controversy, Cinematical Indie
According to FOXNews.com, Lindsay Lohan "walked away" from shooting the indie film Bill before attending the Sunday night premiere of A Prairie Home Companion. According to rumors, the actress is unhappy with the production and is planning on only working for big name directors from now on (Bill is being shot by first-time directors Bernie Goldmann and Melisa Wallack). Lohan is supposedly now concentrating on her next film, Georgia Rule, which is about sexual abuse and comes from "big name director" Garry Marshall (would you let the helmer of Exit to Eden tackle a serious film about incestuous molestation?).
Good. Who needs Lindsay Lohan in any independent films from new, unknown filmmakers? I'll admit that after Mean Girls I was excited about her career, but she hasn't done anything interesting since. Sure she's in the new Altman film, but who hasn't been in an Altman film? To completely discredit and exclude all novice directors, if this is indeed what she plans on doing, is a sure sign of a spoiled star.

"Mean Girls" was interesting? News to me. I thought it was typically smug and unfunny Tina Fey humor.

Who needs her? Seriously. Is she even a box office draw anymore? Her last movie didn't even recoup 1/4 its budget. And it's not like anyone is hiring her for her "talent".

I was hoping she'd stick with the Indies. Then I'd never chance seeing her again.

I don't get the L. Lonhan thing myself every movie I've seen her in except maybe "the parent trap" was boring, and a waste of film. I just hope "Bobby",and the Lennon killer movie aren't crap because of her.

i think that everyone is just jealous of lindsay lohan. she is a extremely talented girl.so what if she wants to work with certain directors, that her decision. she is one that has to live with the reputation of acting in a bad movie if it doesn't sell much. i think she made a wise decision for her career.

with that kind of attitude good luck trying to find work. you won't make it in any entertainment industry with that attitude. Thats like a shannon doherty attitude. look at the her she can't even get a commericial anymore. Ask yourself this what has this lindsay lohan even done or contributed to film? nothing. it's just looks. which i'd hate to say she's like everyone else. No Talent, No personality.
Next she will stoop to the low end even more and have a celebrity sex tape. Come on thats what all the celebrities do to stay on top. Tommy Lee didn't seem to pissed off by that video getting out now did he?

Lindsay Lohan is a very over-rated actress. I've never understood why she's been in demand for movies. I think it's a real shame that she's not willing to work for first-time directors. Just think if actors had that attitude when Steven Spielberg was first trying to direct films. If Lindsay won't work for novice directors, she'll have a difficult time working for those directors if they become famous and accomplished as Steven Spielberg.

Mr. Internet Journalist: Your lead should read, "...turned down WHOM?" As object of the preposition, turned down WHO is just way wrong - kind of like being 19 and thinking you own the world, n'est pas? N

What has happened to this little girl??? I used to love her as an actress, but somewhere along the way, someone has made it okay for this little girl to think that she is the next Angelena Jolie. That will NEVER happen, Lindsay, so get over yourself!!! Why dont you just go fight with Dakota fanning, you are acting more like her age, trouble is Dakota Fanning acts ALOT more mature than she does.

People who feel the need to trash celebrities they don't even know show take a long look in the mirror. If you're this obsessed with their lives, there's obviously something missing from yours. And to Jon Kauffman, the Doherty reference is pathetic and uninformed (oh, and you misspelled her name). She has a new show premiering this summer.

I'm not even sure why someone would care about this? If you like lindsey then go and see her movies if your dont then stay away from them. If she only wants to work with certain directors or even certain actors that is her career decision and its not like it has not happened before!

I wonder where Chris got the idea she was a 'spoiled star'? I will agree with the spoiled part but a star? I put her in the same 'spoiled non-star' catagory as Paris Hilton and Denise Richards. Why these ladies end up in the news with the 'real stars' is beyond me.

As for Lindsay Lohan to call her a spoiled star, that's a complete understatement, the girl is a complete mess, she is a chain smoker, she drinks constantly, I don't know for certain as to whether she is or is not, but if I were a betting man and I am, I would swear she is using drugs of some sort. She is in complete denial of herself, 10 years from now, when that youthful look is gone, she will be on The Surreal Life. She is already a somewhat hasbeen, I work movie shoots, and I seen LL come onto the set 1 1/2 hours late, than had a conversation with the director, and she turned around and went home, I can tell you she looked a total mess that morning, stepping out of that Black Escalade. But most new stars are very touchy and spoiled, Jake Gylenhaal he was shooting a movie at 4th and Spring, Chronicles of a Zodiac Killer, and he came out of the office bldg. throwing a huge tantrum, kicking a big can that sat in front of the door, kicking the can all the way into traffic on Spring St.

I think she awesome and adorable. Unfortunately because shhe is in the spotlight so much, too many critics are on her like a hot potatoe. I think in the long term she will prove all the critics wrong. She is beautiful and will succeed.

Lindsey, Lindsey. So young, so naive. Looks? What looks? She looks completely different everytime I see a picture of her. She's just a typical teenager but also a spoiled brat. I don't think walking away from a movie is a smart career move considering how sick of her people are and how she only knows one character to play (like Jennifer Aniston, Goldie Hawn, Farrah Fasset, etc). That gets really boring after a few movies. Take acting lessons Lindsey, it can't hurt. We've all seen all your (3) expressions, and you say your lines exactly the same in every movie. She won't have a "grown up" career unless she learns to act.
